Make Up of the Day!

My Simple Face for the Day

My Skin Routine

Yay my first make up of the day post! I’m excited yet nervous to post this. I am no make up artist by any means but I think that the look I created today was cute and simple so I wanted to share it with you all! Now, one of the products I used today, I unfortunately have to return (insert sad crying face here) but I will be repurchasing next pay day because this palette is ugh, AMAZING! So, here is what I created today! I hope you like it!

I always start out with prepping my skin. I use Garniers SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Makeup Remover & Cleanser to clean my face. Let me tell you, I got a ton of this and their SkinActive Clearly Brighter Brightening & Smoothing Daily Moisturizer SPF 15 from Crowdtap one month and I am in LOVE! I have had the best skin since using these products. ANyway, I clean my face with the Micellar water and let air dry. Then, I use my Tarte Maracuja Oil all over my face. I have pretty oily skin but I have found that letting this soak into my naked face helps slow my oil production (weird right?). After I let the oil soak in, I use two different moisturizers. The first is my Tucker Ashley moisturizer which is an amazing oil free moisturizer that I received a few months ago in my Birch Box subscription; the second is of course, my Garnier clearly brighter moisturizer. I let those dry and give my skin a chance to take everything in and then the fun starts!

So because of my oily skin, I use a mattifying primer to help keep everything attached to my face. I recently found Make Up Forever’s Mattifying Primer and it is love. I don’t know how I ever survived without this. I apply that all over my face and let dry.  Now, I have a pretty uneven skin tone and I have a problem area near my chin for zits, so I spot conceal. I use Make Up Forever’s Ultra HD conceal for this in shade Y31. I am in love with this concealer because it actually works! Nothing pops out of this bad boy! After concealing, I use a mixture of two foundations. One being my Too Faced Born This Way in shade Nude and the other pretty much depends on my stock of Sephora samples. Today, I used Tarte’s Amazonian Clay in shade Light Med Honey. The reason why I mix the two is because I feel any foundation made for oily skin sticks like glue to this primer. The Born This Way has a more liquid base and helps blend out the other product. I use my Sephora #78 Pro Airbrush Blender brush to blend everything evenly. After this, I set my foundation using elf’s high definition powder. Then comes my almost attempt at contouring. I have Lorac’s Pro Contour Kit but I haven’t been using it lately, so I use Too Faced Dark Chocolate Soleil matte powder to contour my cheek bones, nose and jaw. Onto the eyes!

First I start with my brows, which I use Anastasia’s Dip Brow in Chocolate. I don’t really do too much to my brows besides give a better defined shape. Other than that, they don’t get too much attention. Now, time for the look I did today for my eyes. I primed both lids with UD’s Primer potion and then used WOS from my Naked Basics palette to cover my entire eye area. Then, from my Tarte Rainforest of the Sea palette, I used Seashell and applied that to my lid area, blending it out across the lid. Following that, I used Wave and Abyss from the same palette to create a smokey look in the crease/corner of my eye. Sometimes I’ll add some Crave from my Basics palette to make a deeper crease. After my shadow is done, I line the top of my lids with Kat Von D’s Inked eyeliner in Trooper before I glue on my lashes. I feel that this helps make my lashes less wonky when I glue them on (because I suck at that ha!). Today, I used Ardell’s Demi Wisps lashes for a flirty look. Before I glued them on, I used my Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara to make sure my lashes have some definition to them. After the glue has dried, I then line the top of the lashes with my Trooper again to even things out. I then used a white liner on my bottom water line to make my eyes pop. Now, I always save my highlighter for last so that I don’t mess up my glow. I used Anastasia’s Glow Kit in Gleam in the colors Starburst and Crushed Pearl. I love this palette but I over spent on my budget and have to return it *crying*….next payday. After the highlight is on, I soak my fave in UD All Nighter Setting spray and poof! Done.

So sorry that this was so long. I just wanted to get everything in! I promise next time it will be much shorter but I hope you enjoyed! I linked all the products I used in the description of the name!
